Madrid, September 5th 2016<\/strong>– The Board of SEVeM, the Spanish Medicines Verification System\u2019s management society, was today established during a meeting held in Madrid. The Director General of the National Trade Association of the Spanish based pharmaceutical industry (Farmaindustria), Humberto Arn\u00e9s, was nominated President of the organization which will watch over the correct implementation of this system. Serving as Three vice chairmen are, \u00c1ngel Luis Rodr\u00edguez de la Cuerda; General Director of the Spanish Generic Medicines Association (AESEG), Jes\u00fas Aguilar; President of the Spanish Council of Pharmacists (CGCOF) and Eladio Gonz\u00e1lez Mi\u00f1or; President of the Spanish Pharmaceutical Wholesalers (FEDIAR).<\/p>\n

Alongside them, seven board members were nominated: Javier Urzay; Farmaindustria\u2019s Deputy Director, Lourdes Fraguas; Farmaindustria\u2019s Secretary-General and Director of Legal Affairs, Ic\u00edar Sanz de Madrid; Farmaindustria\u2019s International Affairs Director, Emili Esteve; Farmaindustria\u2019s Technical Affairs Director, Raul D\u00edaz-Varela; AESEG\u2019s President, Luis Amaro; CGCOF\u2019s Secretary-General and Rosa-L\u00f3pez Torres; CGCOF\u2019s Treasurer.<\/p>\n

The Board of the Spanish Medicines Verification System relies on the support of a Secretary and a Vice-Secretary: Victor Horcajuelo, Senior Associate at Deloitte Law Firm and Miguel Vald\u00e9s, FEDIFAR\u2019s Director General, respectively.<\/p>\n

The Director General of SEVeM herself, Mar\u00eda \u00c1ngeles Figuerola, will also participate in regular meetings with the Board and, with the aim of guaranteeing the development and operations of the national repository in line with the European legislation, a representative from the Spanish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (AEMPS) will also attend on a regular basis. This time round, AEMPS was represented by Bel\u00e9n Escribano, Chief of the Agency\u2019s Inspection and Control Department, on behalf of the Agency\u2019s Director, Bel\u00e9n Crespo.<\/p>\n
